1st Quarter :  The Tornades win the tip...#23 hits a baseline shot and immediately apply pressure after the basket.  The Tornades #23 strikes again to take a 4-0 lead.  #13 for the Tornades hits a lay up.  Then the Tornades #4 finds her way to the basket to take an 8-0 lead.  Runnymede’s #24 gets fouled attacking the basket and goes to the line for two…makes both.  Tornades #23 muscles her way to the basket again for a tough lay-up.  Tornades #13 steals an inbound and take the lay up too.  Runnymede’s #21 responds with a lay up of her own off the break.  Tornades #4 hits a baseline 2 to make the score 14-4.  The Tornades #41 strikes with a baby hook…score at the quarter is 16-4.

2nd Quarter : The Ravens start with the ball…#24 gets fouled and goes to the line driving to the hoop…she makes 1.  Tornades #15 knocks down the baseline set shot to extend the lead.  The Tornades #41 drops an inbound play lay under the hoop.  The Ravens #5 (Driving Down Town Brown) gets on the scoreboard to try to spark her team with a lay up.  There she goes again…Ravens Brown burns the ball to the hoop for an AND 1…misses the extra point.  With 2:45 the score is 22-9 in favour of the Tornades.  Brown finds her way again for 2.  Tornades #15 comes back with her own AND 1 conversion. Score at the half is 25-11.

3rd Quarter : The Tornades start with the ball…#11 for the Ravens gets hacked and goes to the line…makes 1.  Ball keeps changing hands, but Ravens #5 comes up with and gets fouled driving to the basket…makes 1.  Tornades #13 hits a baseline shot for two more.  Ravens #21 takes a long fast break pass and drains the bucket from the baseline. Tornades #24 responds with a bank shot from the middle of the key.  Tornades #15 and #4 run a give and go.  Ravens #21 scores an off balanced 2.  Tornades #23 hits a 15 ft jump shot from the left side…the Ravens keep hanging around with a score of 33-17 with 3:38 left in the 3rd.  Ravens #5 pulls off an AI drive to the basket, through traffic.  Ravens #5  in on the action again…drives, gets fouled and goes to the line…misses both.  Tornades #41 muscles in an inside hoop.  Tornades #21 knocks down a lane shot to end the quarter at 37-19.

4th Quarter :  The Tornades have the ball to start and continue to run lots of patient offense. Raven #5 responds with a three.  Tornades #5 comes back with short baseline two.  Tornades keep coming…#23 hits #13 with a long break pass and finishes the lay-up to make it 41-22.  Ravens #21 misses two from the line.  Tornades #15 extends the lead.  Then #5 for the Tornades hits another outside shot.  Tornades #33 makes both foul shots.  Ravens #5 strikes again from downtown to make it 47-25.  Raven’s #5 making a statements kissing one off the glass.  Driving Downtown Brown is everywhere and making it all happen for the Ravens….gets fouled and goes to the line…misses both.  Tornades #21 knocks down the long baseline shot…Tornades steal and #15 makes the last basket of the game making the final score 51-27. 

Tornades shows a whole team effort as every player hit the score sheet; while the Ravens showed tremendous team spirit cheering on their team to the last seconds of the game.

1st Quarter:

Crusaders win the jump.  Ball changes hands several times before anyone scores.  Crusaders’ Becky Bertrand finally finds the basket at the 6 minute mark.  Bertrand puts a shot up inside the key and is fouled.  She misses both free-throws.  Crusaders’ Elisa De Wit scoops up the rebound and puts the ball in.  The Blue Devils finally find the score sheet with a basket from Alicia Monteith.  Teammate Robin Scott also finds the hoop with a long 2, just inside the arc. Monteith gets another basket for the Blue Devils.  De Wit takes matters in her own hands, and drives to the hoop for 2.  Krista Chaddock, from the Crusaders, finds De Wit alone under the hoop, and De Wit finishes the play.  She then does it again with another nice drive to the hoop.  The quarter ends with the Crusaders leading 10-6.

2nd Quarter:

Krista Chaddock, from the Crusaders, steals the ball in her end and drives hard down the floor.  She passes to De Wit who gets another 2.  Vicky Chaddock follows suit with a lay-up of her own.  De Wit is having a heyday with another easy lay-up.  Blue Devils get a basket from Jessica Menary.  Robin Scott makes good on a 15 foot shot for the Blue Devils.  Krista Chaddock is fouled on the shot and sinks her 2 free-throws.   Shawnee Ryan scores 2 from the outside and misses the extra point on the free-throw line, for the Blue Devils.  De Wit picks up a loose ball and drives to the hoop.  She is fouled and makes 1 foul shot.  Ball switches hands several times.  Alicia Brown scores from inside the key, adding 2 more for the Crusaders.   Hayleigh Koggel then scores 2 for the Crusaders.  Char-Lan goes into the 2nd half leading 23-12.

3rd Quarter:

The Crusaders start with the ball…both teams start off running and gunning. #43 scores off the back cut for CL.  #21 strikes for CL to extend the lead to 27-12.  #4 for Mitchell responds with an AND 1 and converts the foul shot.  Mitchell’s #23 knocks down the baseline 10 footer to decrease the gap to 10.  CL #21 get hit underneath and goes to the line for two…makes 1.  The blue devils #23 strikes for a three, then #15 steals and goes in coast to coast for another 2.  #42 ends the quarter with a buzzer lay-up.  The score going into the third is CL 30 and Mitchell 22.

 

4th Quarter: 

Mitchell starts with the ball.  CL applies pressure, forces the turnover, and Dewitt finishes the lay-up to get the 10 point lead back.  #45 makes a beautiful pass under the basket to #43.  She gets fouled and makes 1 foul shot.  #21 for CL scores a loop de looper to make the score 35-22.  Mitchell’s #23 strikes again from the baseline.  CL’s #42 converts on the fast-break lay-up.  Mitchell’s #4 goes to the line to helps the cause…misses both.  Blue Devils #23 makes another big three point shot to make the score 37-27.  With 2:13 left Mitchell’s #25 goes to line for bonus…misses.  Dewitt gets fouled at the other end driving to the basket…makes 1.  #23 for Mitchell cuts the lead to 9 with an elbow shot.  Then #23 strikes again from close to behind the arc.  CL’s #20 dials it up from behind the arc to make the score 41-31 with :37 left.  CL #50 shoots the penalty…makes both.  Mitchell’s #15 scores back to back layups to close the deficit to 8…final score 43-35.

Game Report:

1st Quarter:  Kolts #44 starts it off by powering to the basket with a lay-up.  Kolt’s #44 strike again with an open seven footer.  Cav’s #15 grabs a flyer pass and gets hacked on way to the basket...she makes her two free throws to get her team on the board.  Kolts #23 goes to the line and hits her two free throws.  Kolt’s #44 make another tuff hoop as she muscles to the basket and puts her team up 8-2 with 3:38 left in the quarter.  Cav’s #24 goes to the line and makes one.  Kolts #20 knocks down a long two from the top of the key.  Kolt’s  #20 also finds her way to the foul shot line...makes 1.  Cav’s  #13 hits a midranger to kep it close.  The quater ends 11-5 in favour of the Kolts.   

2nd Quarter:  Cav’s #24 makes a ghost lay-up...#20 for the Kolts responds with a runner of her own.  Cav’s #15 splits the D and completes the lay up to make the score 13-9.  Kolts #22 cleans up some garbage under the basket.   Cav’s #22 powers up for a pump fake lay-up.  Game is getting a little chippy as both teams continue to battle.  Cav’s #14 goes to the line for the penalty...misses.  Kolt’s are now in the penalty...#44 misses.  Cav’s # 15 gets to the hoop and lays in a tuff lay-up.  Cav’ #13 knocks down the fade away hook to tie the game 15-15 at the end of the half.

3rd Quarter:  Cavs #24 is $ from the line, however this time only makes one.  Cavs #13 gets hacked, but misses both.  Cavs #24 muscles her way to the hoop again.  Kolt #44 responds with a power drive of her own.  Cavs #24 gets back to the line...misses both.  #13 gets the rebound scores the look-a-like up and under, then scores again on a nice post up to take over the lead 23-17.  Cavs #11 get’s to the line...misses both.  Both teams keep on battling with violations and fouls.  Cavs #13 is feeling it as she takes her game to the outside.  Then the Cavs #15 hit another from the outside as the Cavs try to Lebron the Kolts, as they lead 27-17.

4th Quarter:  Kolts #12 drains a three to launch the comeback.  Cavs #12 keeps her hot hand in the fourth as she posts one in.  Kolts #23 cleans up some garbage and drops in two.  Kolts #12 brings it to five with another outside shot.  Cavs #4 responds with a fifteen foot turn around.  Kolts #12 goes to the line...misses both.  Cavs #13 does it again with a turn-around jump shot from 12 feet to extend the lead to nine.  Cavs #24 sends Kolts #32 to the line for two....she misses both.  Kolts #32 drains another outside shot...i think her baby toe was on the line.  Kolts #32 scores another basket from the outside.  Kolts keep on the pressure and get another shot.  Cavs #25 shoots the penalty, but misses.  Cavs #14 misses double bonus.  The Cavs take down the Kolts and now I’m off to Buffalo...Go Bills Go.  Good Luck to ALL tomorrow.

Game Report:

1st Quarter:  Flames #30 starts things off with a lay-up.  The Rams come back with an answer from #2.  #34 for the Flames knock down back to back outside shots.  Flames #30 is fire burning on the dance floor, as she dials it up for three.  Flames up 9-4.  #34 for the Flames is on fire as she connects for another three.  Flames #24 goes to the line and makes one.  Both teams continue to battle defensively.  Flames continue to get to the line as #21 makes one.  Rams #41 gets a gift and delivers it to keep the Rams in the game.  Rams #41 connects again from beautiful dish.  The keep coming as #21 receives a beautiful pass under the basket and finishes.  Flames #21 goes back to the line and makes one.  The score is 15-10.   The Rams #21 strikes again with an outside 45 shot.  #21 continues her physical play and gets back to the line and connects both.  Rams #25 keeps sparking the flame with a fading foul line jump shot.  #21 for the Flames strikes from the inside to keep the lead at 19-14….and that is the way the quarter ends.

 

2nd Quarter: Flames start with the ball…can’t convert.  Both teams keep exchanging the ball, but can’t buy a basket.  Flames #30 finally breaks the drought at the 4:00 mark of the 2nd.  #41 for the Rams knocks down a 10 footer to get her team closer.  Flames #34 ignites the flame again and buries another trey.   #30 for the Flames is attacked as she drives to the basket…makes one foul shot.  The score is 25-16 at half in favour of Rockway.

 

3rd Quarter:  Rams are off to a good start as they open with a 3 from #34.   #21 then makes her 1st free-throw for the Flames.  #50 from the Rams kisses it off the glass for 2.  #30 Flames makes a lay-up.  Rams player #21 keeps things interesting as she knocks down a 3 and closes the gap to 5.  #21 at the other end picks up her own rebound and is fouled on her attempt at a hoop.  She makes both free-throws.  #34 hits from way downtown.  #50 finds nothing but net to help the Rams.  #21 Flames is on line again and makes her 1st shot.  #30 increases the lead to 12 with another loooong 3 in the corner.  Nobody should put her in the corner!  #21 is pulling down big rebounds and is sent to the line again.  She drains the 1st.  Flames’ #30 fakes shot and drives for the pull-up jumper.  #50 responds for the Rams.  Flames #55 makes good on the nice inside feed.  Score 42 Flames; 27 Rams.  

 

4th Quarter:  Rams start with the ball to open the quarter but the Flames steal it away and give it to #34 as she hits a long two.  The Rams make that bucket up, as #41 makes a nice bank shot from inside the key.  The Flames answer right back as #30 finds #10 all by her lonesome under the basket.  She is up for the challenge and scores the easy deuce.  The Flames are rebounding well on the defensive end and that is translating into opportunities on the other end.  The Flames continue to pass the ball around the offensive half as if it was a hot potato.  The Flames #30 is wreaking havoc on the Rams as she is becoming unstoppable.  As I write this, she is back on the line for 2…hit the first….and the second.  That pushes the lead up to 19 and we are getting ready to put this game to bed.  The Flames #21 makes another 2.  The Rams have called at timeout with 3:48 left, as the coaches try to rally the troops for one final push.  The Rams #21 makes a nice steal on the defensive end but didn’t quite have the finish as she went strong to the hoop.   Whatever the Rams coach said during the timeout worked, as the Rams have come out with some push back as #25 goes hard to the hoop, draws the foul and goes to the line for an “and 1”…But just misses the free throw.  Down on the other end, the Flames #44 is left wide open as the seas part and she goes in for the easy layup.  The action is furious now as the Rams come back down the court and make a beautiful 3 from the top of the circle.  As the final buzzer sounds, the Flames find themselves on top of a 52-33 score.  As one final note on this game, “Somebody call 911...that little Thirty sure had a fire burning on our gym floor!”
