The OFSAA Alumni Scholarship
Application deadline: April 1, 2009


Criteria for selection:


  • Attendance at a Canadian post-secondary institution
  • Participation in high school sport
  • Involvement in other areas of school and community activity
  • Attainment of an academic overall average of at least 80%
  • Letter of recommendation from teacher or teacher/coach
  • Personal letter

The Roger Neilson/Toronto Maple Leafs Alumni Scholarship
Application deadline: April 1, 2009

Criteria for selection:

  • Four (two males and two females) will be awarded separate scholarships in the amounts of $10,000 each spread out over four years
  • Applicants will be scored on academic success, community involvement, leadership qualities, and school activities
  • Applicants should also demonstrate a clear financial need

The Brian Maxwell Memorial Scholarship
Application Deadline: June 5, 2009

Criteria for selection:

  • Two scholarships, valued at $5,000 each, will be offered to male and female OFSAA track/cross country qualifiers
  • Applicants must be continuing on to post-secondary education at a Canadian institution

The OHF Bursary Program

Application Deadline: April 30, 2009

Since its establishment in 1996, the Ontario Hockey Federation (OHF) Bursary Program has distributed more than $155,000 to over 170 student-athletes continuing to post-secondary education across Ontario. Each year the OHF awards bursaries to outstanding young people who display commitment both at the arena and in the classroom.

Requirements:

  • Be registered within the OHF for three years in any capacity
  • Have registered with the OHF during his/her application season
  • Be enrolling or enrolled n a post-secondary institution in Canada
  • Meet the admission standards of the post-secondary institution he/she will be attending and have maintained clear academic status
