All swimmers who wish to compete in the Para Swimming Division at the OFSAA Swimming Championship must be classified.

OFSAA will be assisting in classifying swimmers who only wish to swim with their High School and not a sanctioned club.  These classifications are only used for High School meets and not SNC sanctioned meets.  For those coaches who have para swimmers that need to receive OFSAA classification, please click the link below to access the online form in order to begin the classification process.

Online Para Classification Form

Please note: All forms for requests for classification must be submitted by coaches to the OFSAA Swimming Sport Advisory Committee chair by January 31, 2023.

The following is a summary of Para Classifications

S1 – S10 (Physical Impairments)

S11 – S13 (Visual Impairments)

S14 (Intellectual Impairments)

  • Caution with S14 (A student with an IEP does not necessarily mean they meet these classification requirements, typically require an IQ < 75 , so an LD classification on the IEP might not meet this requirement)

Hearing impairments do not fall under the Para swimming classification.  If you have deaf swimmers, please contact your Association Convenor to arrange protocols at your championship meet and contact the OFSAA Convenor if the swimmer qualifies for OFSAA.
