OFSAA extends sincere congratulations to the family of the late Brian Maxwell!
Maxwell was inducted into the Athletics Ontario Hall of Fame on Saturday, October 19, 2019.
Maxwell’s sister, Sheila, accepted the award on behalf of the family and she gave a speech at the VIP Hall of Fame Reception Ceremony.
OFSAA administers the Brian Maxwell Memorial Scholarship each year to six student-athletes (from the cross country and track and field disciplines) that will be continuing their post-secondary education at a Canadian College or University. Three males and three females are awarded a scholarship of $5,000. Preference is given to a student whose character is reflective of qualities that Brian Maxwell demonstrated in his life: honesty, integrity, compassion and an unwavering quest to accomplish the best they can, academically and athletically, while supporting his fellow team members.
The application deadline will be June 12, 2020.
